our process

What is it like to work together? Here’s what you can expect.

We look at the whole picture, bringing together corporate, personal, and legacy considerations, to give you financial clarity.

phase 1: discover

Your values and vision guide the work we do together. Because it’s not just about what’s present in your bank account; it’s about the big picture and what’s possible.

We get to know you and your current financial situation, including any personal, business, or family considerations. What’s important to you? What keeps you up at night? We want to know about your values, goals, priorities, and challenges so we can identify gaps and opportunities.

Once you provide more details, we share recommendations across the key areas of financial planning:

  • Corporate planning
  • Tax planning
  • Investment planning
  • Retirement planning
  • Insurance planning
  • Estate planning

phase 2: implement

If it all sounds good, we’ll decide on our engagement structure and strategically prioritize what to address first. But we don’t just give you information and recommendations. We provide a framework to help you decide what works best for you.

That’s where our business coaching approach comes in. We balance empathy with accountability to help you stay on track and make meaningful progress towards your goals.

phase 3: optimize

Looking at your “flow of finances,” we help you understand how the decisions you make in one area will affect other aspects of your finances. Because life and business are messy, and we recognize that things can and will change!

Usually, we check in with our clients to:

  • Review progress towards financial goals
  • Provide updates on work with other advisors, such as accountants and lawyers
  • Discuss changes in personal, business, or financial situations
  • Troubleshoot and reprioritize as needed

Who We Work With

If your business is profitable, but you don’t know what to do with the money sitting in your company, we’ll help you figure out:

  • How much should stay in the business
  • How much to take out of it
  • How much to allocate towards the future
  • And, how these decisions affect each other

Then, we decide how to prioritize each category in the short and long term so you can move forward with confidence.

why Choose Clarity

Most advisors only hold one piece of the puzzle, making it hard to understand how decisions made in one area of financial planning can affect another area. We look at the whole picture, bringing together Corporate, Personal, and Legacy considerations, to give you financial clarity.

Together, we’ll help you navigate the complex web of financial considerations, answering questions like:

  • “How much should I pay myself this year?”
  • “Do I have enough to reach my goals?”
  • “What should I work on this year to increase the value of my business?”
  • “Am I paying too much tax?”
  • “How much do I need to put away this year?”
  • “What needs to be in place to exit my business well?”
